Im super dissapointed in the lack of cheap chocolate today. While yes it is cheaper i still refuse to pay 5 $ for a hollowed out chocolate bunny. not cool.

I did however got some "Cheese Tubes' (the aussie version of cheezies) which turned out to be delicious!

Happy Easter!!

Sorry its been so long since the update. Heres how the past few days went:

Wednesday: The entire day I skipped class and worked my ass off  finishing an  assessment that i needed done. I worked so well and had it completely finished by the time  i left. WOOT. Wed night i spent watching New Moon with my roomate Daniel.

Thursday: Not much happened just went to both my classes then to the grocerie store for food then home.

Friday: Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes! They always make me feel so loved. Sadly tho i pretty much spent the day on my own and ended up having a rough end to it BUT i have an amazing boyfriend who can always make me smile and made sure i was happy again before bedtime <3 i love you mr nathan.

Saturday: Not much happened saturday. Went to town but everything was closed for easter weekend - LAME The iga by my house is open tho so i got myself some yoghurt and bread and came back home. also just ran a few errands like returning the movies i rented etc.

Sunday: The majority of my Sunday was spent on the webcam with my fantastic family back home. I had a blast talking to Jess and Nate  (GAH i miss them both SO DAMN MUCH!!) and then they brought the cam into the kitchen where they all sang Paradise by the dashboard light with/to me :D so awesome! I miss it, i really do. <3 Im so excited for xmas in july. ps gotta love random conversations about the red ninja squirrels (hee hee Keith) and the watermelon in the basket (LOL maddie) oh or the 2 legged donkey. LOL

Monday - today my roomate Daniel  was watching Hes Just Not That Into You so i decided to join him. Aftewards he decided to tell me how his life was like the movies - which it totally wasnt. He told me about every single girl hes been with since he was 13 and all the random drama in his life including but not limited to : having cancer, getting stabbed, being trained by x-military white suppremisy (sp?) group in south africa, joining the army in South Africa, doing population control on Elephants, hiding wepons related to potential school shootings, and many many more. I had such a headache trying to keep up with this guys life man . sheesh . Then he decided that he has a ton of leftovers so he would share with Gabriella (one of my other housemates) and myself. Ive had spaghetti off the floor thats tasted better. and he wants to be a chef. i laugh .. failure....epic faliure.

Rest of the week:

Not to much happening this week because its the aussie version on march break. So i have an entire week off. Wed tho i have a group presentation meeting on campus and then some of the  other canadian girls invited em out for a girls nigt wednesday night so im pretty excited about that :D WOOT

Hope you all had a WONDERFUL Easter - i sadly will be raiding the cheap chocolate tomorrow. <3

Hey People

Just a quick note to say that my group presentation went really well today. YAY! Well thats 20% of my final grade so im glad it went well. The profs loved our experiments and how we related it back to different ways to teach the same lesson.  At the end we talked with both profs and they had nothing bad to say about my part or Keenans just noureens so i dunno if it was her accent or if she was just too quiet but oh well . They didnt give us our exact mark yet but they said we did "Above average' YAY US!

Other then that, its been a rainy busy busy day. Everyone in classes is working their asses off to finish what we need to finish before the break. I wish i wasnt part of that group but i totally am. sad days. Oh well one more huge 40% project ot finish up for Thursday then i get a week off. :)

Hey All

Not too much happening round here. UBER hot out lately during the day but cool and rainy in the mornings.

The weekend was good just a HUGE massive amount of schoolwork being done. I also rented Gilmore Girls season one and two. I figure if i have to be stuck in my room working then i might as well watch GG while i do lol.

So today i got home from prac to my flatmate getting out of the shower with towels wrapped around him. he then goes into the other housemates room and sits and watches tv shows in her room on her comp in his towel. Now is it just me or is this odd ?because i was very weirded out. Not cool man. Not cool at all. Put some damn pants on!

On a random note, the other day a bird dive bombed the sidewalk. weird right? well wasnt as weird as it happening TWICE with two different bird within a few mins of each other. It made me sad until they recovered and then flew off into the sunset together <3 ok so that might have been a wee lie. They both stumbled around on the sidewalk then flew into a nearby tree but im still glad they turned out to be okay.

Hope everything is going well on the other side of the world. As for me im just trying to make the most of my last week as a 22 yr old :D YAY!

Oh and science group presentation tomorrow!! So nervous! Wish me luck!

As for how the SOSE meeting went with the other prof: she said that she didnt see the post and before she can say anything she needs to look at it and discuss with trish.  but she explained what she thought and it was the same as us LOL . take that trish! ...unfortunatly tho she discussed with trish and changed the entire question 4 days before its due. can they even do that !?

Hey Everyone

So new drama in today. But first a little background info on the situation. One of my classes is called Trandiciplinary Arts and SOSE where we look at teaching the arts and SOSE to students and how you can use both together. Well as usual we have 2 profs, and while they both work together on making up the course they do mark thier own individual groups. I have this class every wednesday morning where we look at the SOSE side of things for 7 out of the 9 weeks. on the 3rd week and on the 7th we have a saturday class where we deal only with the arts componants to the course. This is done because Trici, the arts prof, has a conflict of schedule and is unable to teach at our wed. course time.  she does however mark one out of the 3 tutorial groups; each tutorial having 12 students. And wouldnt you know my luck, im in her tutorial group. These groups are soley for the "forum postings" -an assignment we have to do where alternating fridays we do a post or comment on others posts.

Alright now heres the issue. When my group got our feedback for the first forum from this prof she was straight and too the point. Which is funny cause they always preach to us all about proper ways to give feedback as to not discourage the students. But nope she was blunt and pointed out ur flaw in a sentance and moved on. It all ended up sounding really rude. and we couldnt go and talk o her about it since we only see her 2 saturdays of the entire semester... last friday our Forum 2 posting was due. We all went and checked this morning to find that she did not give us individual reviews like she should have. She made a new post where she said...and i quote...

"I have read through the postings and I must say that you clearly didn't process the advice I gave at the Saturday workshop....

This subject has a range of readings covering the variety of knowledge bases of this subject, ensure you read them all and synthesise them. You have all segmented the ideas and failed to draw the links.

Secondly, I will simply say the subject is called Transdisciplinary SOSE/Arts... consider this in your approach to all of your work in this subject. Those 3 words are the key!"

Now why it may not seem like it to you while reading this its extremely rude and the entire tutorial group is up in arms. Mainly because of these reasons:

1) No one understands what she meant by us not taking her advice from the workshop...... *hint* if ur entire tutorial group missed what you said then you didnt make it clear enough

2) The question stated to look at two lessons and evaluate the different teaching strategies used. so what the hell is she talking about ?

3) the other two tutorial groups did the same as we did pretty much and none of their feedback was bad.

4) i dont see how thats helpful feedback at all? ...

So whats being done: no one wants to accuse her of being wrong or blame it on the fact that shes 4/5 months pregnant and if bitchy as all hell **rolls eyes** and yet no one thinks its fair that our group is the only one being marked this way. So since we have no on campus communications with her one of the group members responded to her post pretty much saying we dont understand her feedback and for her to clear it up if possible. secondly the 12 of us are going to go see the prof that we do see every week ( fantastic awesome prof Mallihai)  n see if she plans on marking her groups the same way and just kind of bring up that we dont think its very fair that we're being marked differently. Its a good way to make a stand i think because its not accusing her and yet we can still make our point....we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Ps. tomorrow is also the day i plan my sustainability unit that i will be teaching for the 6/7's..wish me luck

Cloudy BBQs

Hello Peoples.

Well nothing really came of the cyclone (at least in Brisbane) except for a cloudy gloomy day. what it did to to other parts of queensland --> http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/it-sounded-like-a-freight-train-airlie-beach-resident-20100321-qnsb.html But i did go out to a "meet the housemates" BBQ. Turns out theirs actually 23 people all living in this house. I actually ended up having alot of fun.  lots of ppl from France and Italy and even 2 ladies from Poland. Also one guy from the states with whom was halarious so we did the canada vs the states thing lol I wasnt origionally going to go but im glad i did. At least i was able to get out of the house for an afternoon. :)

Other then that im on disc 4 of 6 of criminal minds and man why cant the children be normal. Creepy kids freak me out :S

 xoxox

Manda

Ps . Baby i miss u. I found a house that i thnk we should steal and fly to canada then live there forever. :D  Its surrounded by palm trees n everything you would love it. The only problem is that its a pinkish colour so we would have to repaint it.  Love youuu mucho GRANDE!

Sorry just had to vent. He just randomly started shouting for someone, took me a few mins before i realized he wanted my attn cuz my door was open, then he asked me for the location of the vaccum. at least hes a clean stranger?

-----------------------------------EDIT-----------------------------------

I have changed my opinion LOL . He complemented my "very nice" accent and made a comment about loving canada. Hes in the good books..so far lol

Heylo

GAH! its HOT here today. way hotter then its been in a while. Im wishing i didnt have to share the frezzer with 4 others so that i can put some ice blocks in. mmm the green ones are delicious...**drool**. Anyhow.. as i said the weather is sunny and boiling hot it was 30 degrees at 1030 this morning. not that im complaining cuz its better then the cyclone weather thats expected. Speaking of which, the locals are even planing the wait and see what happens theory to the cyclone --> http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/cyclone-ului-fails-to-cause-a-storm-20100319-qkv2.html and while the whole province has been issued the extreme weather warning, brisbane weather forcast says:

"Saturday: Mostly fine, chance of a brief shower or two. Moderate to fresh SE to E winds.

Sunday: Mostly fine, a brief morning shower or two. Moderate to fresh SE to E winds."

Nothing extreme. But they will be closing all the beaches just to be safe i think.

On an up side i live right near a Blockbuster so i went and checked it out today. Turns out i need more id to sign up for a blockbuster card then ive needed to get in the country LOL. But i did manage to rent all of season two of criminal minds. :)

On a random note  i found out that New Moon doesnt get released here for another month. So im thinking that if i get it shipped from canada here then ill have it before them and can use it to bribe my yr 6/7 girls LOL. might work?
